Enjoy your nostalgia, and exist in the present

We live in an interesting time in history.
So many advancements in technology and society have made our lives much easier. Washing the laundry now only involves putting clothes and soap in a machine and turning a dial, getting from one place to another can be achieved rather cost effectively via several methods of transportation and we now carry around devices with features previously only seen in science fiction movies.
But even so, there are things that we enjoyed in our younger years that are no longer available, or can only be found in specialty shops.
When we find those things again decades later, there’s no resisting that nostalgic feeling.
Can you remember your first milkshake from the local drug store? While I missed the era where a drug store sold milk shakes, there were other things in the 80s I can recall that don’t exist anymore
I can recall being allowed to disappear into the woods for hours at a time without supervision, so long as the sun was up.
I can also recall the excitement of Saturday morning cartoons as a child.
Bringing back the feeling of nostalgia is becoming big business in this day and age.
And several business models are capitalizing on that fact. If you’ve ever been inside a used media store, you know what I mean. From old records, to comic books and even previously read novels, there are franchise stores that carry them all.
It’s always fun to take a trip down memory lane when that trip involves something like candy, comic books and old video games you played in your youth.
So, while we visit our favorite places that bring us back to a time that was simpler, don’t forget to enjoy the present. Because soon, we will long for these days as well.
