Tide Archery places second in the state

JACKSON, Miss. — The Picayune Maroon Tide Archery team shot for the bull’s-eye at the 5A State Championship this week in Jackson, whizzing their way to second place in the state behind Saltillo.
Harold Gallo led the Tide as the team’s top shooter, tying the school’s record score of 288, which placed 14th in the competition.
The Tide’s Archery team reaped more success as Sarah Smith broke the school’s female record with a score of 287, finishing in 8th place among female shooters. The following top female scorers for the Tide were Madyson Canulette (274), Kate Spiers (268) and Jordan Barrack (268).
Other top scorers for the Tide include Quinton Fenstermacher (271), Caleb Davis (267) and William Smith (265).
The state results were an accumulation of an overall score from every shooter on the team, which included Madisen Milliet (266), Helena Herbert (263), Conner Sanders (263) and Heather Jarrell (261).
