Diana Joseph was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 14, 1952. She passed away in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on March 9, 2017.
Diana attended Kansas State University where she received several degrees, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Rehab, a Masters Degree in Human Resources, and a Nursing Degree in Ob/Gyn. Later in life, she followed her artistic nature and got a degree in Costume Design from the local community college. Diana worked for years at a Kansas State Correctional Facility training inmates leaving prison to find work and maintain a new life in the outside world. She also worked as a drug and alcohol counselor, and for a short time as an Ob/Gyn nurse.
She was married in Chanute, Kansas, to Michael Lundy, and she only had one daughter, Marsha. When Marsha was married, she and her husband moved to Mississippi. Diana came to Picayune literally in the middle of Katrina. Marsha was due to have her second child (Georgia), and Diana knew she needed to be here to help. Her stories of how she was able to get through on back roads from Kansas show how God was certainly with her during that travail. Her daughter would eventually move back to Kansas, but Diana stayed.
