Gene Lawrence Brockhaus

Funeral services for Gene Lawrence Brockhaus, Sr., age 68, of Picayune, Miss., formerly of St. Bernard Parish, who passed away Monday, December 5, 2016, will be held Friday, December 9, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Father Joseph Trinh will officiate the service.
A native of New Orleans, La., he moved to St. Bernard Parish, March 1970.  Gene worked at Chalmette Meat Packing Company from 1976 to 2005. He married Suzanne Seymour, May 1969, and had three sons. He was a loving, hardworking father who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Gene moved to Picayune, Miss. after Hurricane Katrina. He was a loving caregiver to his mother from a young age, for many years. His joys were horseback riding and cooking. Gene was a member of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Brockhaus, Sr. and Ruby Petifils Brockhaus; his sisters, Ruby “Peaches” Brockhaus Duhe and Ada Brockhaus White; and his brothers, Louis Brockhaus, Jr. and Theodore Brockhaus.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Gene (Linda “Terri”) Brockhaus, Jr., Jonathan (Norma) Brockhaus, Sr., and Joshua (Jennifer) Brockhaus, Sr.; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan, Jr., Matthew, Jade, Justin, Joshua, and Hunter Brockhaus; 1 great granddaughter, Lily Anne Brockhaus; his niece, Ruby Margaret Plunkett Corley; and several other nieces and nephews.
