Memorial services for Mr. Lim “Bubba” McMillian, 87 will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Lim “Bubba” McMillian was born on October 15, 1928 to the union of Otha McMillian and Eunice Pruitt McMillian, in the community of Good Hope, Mississippi which is located in Jasper County.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Good Hope Methodist Church. After a few years, the family moved to Enterprise, MS. He then became a member of the New Hope Methodist Church under the leadership of Reverend Robert Jamison.
His formal education was conducted by his mother, as he was home schooled. He was taught how to read, count and sign his name. Though he was limited because of his impaired hearing and speech, Lim was an inspiration to all who knew him.
He was employed by Ken’s Body Shop as an auto mechanic. He worked well over 10 years and retired in 1994.
The morning of December 21, 2015, God saw fit to deliver him from this world of turmoil and grief.
He is preceded in death by his wife Daisy McMillia; parnets, Otha McMillian and Eunice McMillian; six brothers: Gilbert, Sammy Lee, William, Otha Jr., Thayon, Johnny Lee; and one sister, Walterine.
He leaves to celebrate his life, three children: Vera Burns of Racine, WI, Cynthia D. Johns of Bexley, OH, and Billie R. Trotter (James) of Picayune, MS; four grandchildren: Christopher A. Hill, Tim McGowan, Regina McGowan and Salena Trotter; three great grandchildren: Kayla D. Christopher A. Jr., Salina A. Hill; one brother, Calvin (Ester) of New Orleans, LA; two sisters: Lorraine Thurmond of Rockford, IL and Eunice Dukes of Chicago, IL; two sister-in-law: Ardella McMillian of Picayune, MS and Iretta McMillian of New Orleans, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special friend, Annie Ferguson.
