Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Pearl River, La. for Joann Washington, 53. Pastor Julian Carter Sr. and Rev. C.J. Carter will officiate at the service.

Joann Washington was born in Bogalusa, La. on March 15, 1962 to Carrie Anthony and Anthony Hughes.

She was a resident of Picayune, Miss. for ten years and a native of Pearl River, La. for forty-three years. She changed her earthly address to heaven on September 1, 2015 embraced by her loving and devoted family.

Joann was a graduate of Pearl River High in Pearl River, La.; a certified nursing assistant of Lacombe Nursing Home for over ten years and a faithful member of the love of God Church in Picayune, Miss..

She is survived by four loving and devoted children, Demetrius Washington Sr., Trinity Williams, Hezekiah Williams, and Ezekiel Williams; one daughter in law, Jamika Williams; her parents, Carrie Anthony and Anthony Hughes; three sisters, Sharon Anthony Sylve, Kim Patrick (Michael), and Beverly Anthony; one brother, Leonard Anthony; three grandchildren, Sa’Nyra Boston, Demetrius Washington Jr. and Jaquane Williams; her dearest friends, Rachel Browning, George Williams, Debbie Taylor, Mary Powell and Dianna Carter.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Slidell Memorial Cemetery, 1125 Daney St., Slidell, La..
