James Franklin Gilbert, Sr.

James Franklin Gilbert, Sr., age 85, of Picayune, Mississippi passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his residence.

Services are pending.

Mr. Gilbert was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force who fought in the Korean War. He was an electrical consultant at Johnson Controls, a member of the American Legion, and the VFW. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by everyone.

He is survived by his wife La Juana Gilbert of Picayune; three sons, Warren B. Gilbert of Picayune, Joseph W. Gilbert of Picayune, and Darrell Gilbert of Picayune; one step-son, Frank Whipple, Jr. of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Rhonda Sayne of Picayune; eleven grandchildren, Jeff, Joshua, Joseph, Brandon, Jaclyn, Alana, Warren, Jr., Christopher, Stephen, Jonah and Jill; eleven great-grandchildren, Michael, Jada, Taylor, Justin, Jayden, Thaddeus, Gabriel, Maximilian, Noah, Abigail, Gavin; three step-grandchildren, Caleb, Patrick, and Gavin; and one step-great-grandchild Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Ava Gilbert; one son, Jimmy Gilbert, Jr.; one daughter, Jane Jordan; and three grandsons, Jason Jordan, Jamie Jordan, and Dustin Gilbert.
