Poplarville snapped Columbia’s 15 game home winning streak Thursday night in game one of their Class 4A South State playoff series.
The visiting Wildcats proved to be rude visitors as well on Friday.
Columbia jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead off Poplarville starter Hayden Freeman after just two innings, and cruised to an 10-1 win.
The decision knots the series up at 1-1, and the third and deciding game will take place at 6 tonight back in Columbia.
Poplarville got only an RBI-single from Chandler Ray on the board in the loss. The Hornets managed nine hits and put up 10 runs in the opening game win on Thursday night.
Columbia knocked Poplarville out of the playoffs in three games last year.
