Picayune City Council members say newly-annexed residents should take advantage of city fire ratings, which should reduce the cost of their fire insurance.

Annexed residents now have a six as their fire rating, compared to the county’s rating of eight. This can result in insurance savings, said Councilwoman Tammy Valente.
