Memorial Services for Bernice B. Ward, 79, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at her home in Picayune Park.

Bernice was a precious lady who loved the Lord.

Bernice was a member of the PIcayune community for thirteen years and was a devoted Christian. She had been a member of Parkview Baptist Church since 2002 and had her own key to the Church. She used that key to prepare for Bible Studies, to clean and straighten the sanctuary, and to assist her church and her Pastor in whatever was needed. She taught children in Sunday School and attended the babies in the nursery. She sang in the choir and was often a soloist in services. Bernice loved making jewelry to give to the ladies and Bible bookmarks for the men. She also loved to crochet. She made hats for cancer sufferers as well as blankets. Bernice retired from K&B Drug/Ride Aide after 25 years.

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 50 years, Albert “Al” Ward; her sons: James and Michael Ward; and her parents, George and Leona Gregoire.

Survivors include: three daughters: Carol Alphonso of Picayune, Linda Balise (David), Donna Brewer; one son, Robert Ward (Peggy); nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Parkview Baptist Church at 51 Pine Drive in Picayune Park. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon and the Memorial Service will be at 12 noon. For directions call 601-569-9137.
