John Travis Palmer, Jr.

John Travis Palmer, Jr., 57, of Carriere, Miss., passed away October 23, 2012 in Chalmette, La.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 1-2 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at New Palestine Cemetery with Bro. Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery.
John was a lifetime resident of Pearl River County and a Baptist. He loved to garden, tinker with cars, and he would do mechanic work for free for his friends. He also enjoyed working at Cembell Industries, Inc. in Chalmette.
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Edward Sones and Travis and Nell Palmer; and one granddaughter, Madelyn Miller.
He is survived by: his parents, John Travis Palmer, Sr. and Kaye Sones Palmer of Carriere; wife, Lori Palmer of Carriere; son, John Travis Palmer III of Carriere; two daughters, Cassandra Palmer Smith of Poplarville and Mary Frances Palmer of Carriere; one sister, Debbie (Milton) Jarrell of Carriere; grandchildren, P.J. Smith, Slayden Miller, Kiera Miller, Reece Mallory and Courtland Palmer; grandmother, Mary Sones of Carriere; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew him.
