Memorial services for Doris Cox Simon of Carriere, who passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Brother Kevin Neary will officiate the service.

A native of New Orleans, La., she was a vice president of a financial institution and attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. Doris was of the Catholic faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Arnaud B. Cox and Mary Rizzo Cox; her husband, Albert Joseph Simon; and her sisters and brothers, Marion C. Wagener, William B. Cox, Ruth Scholl, Margery Leritte, Richard “Dickie” Cox, and James A. Cox.

Survivors include: her children, Peter Arnauld Rochua, Charles J. (Shirley) Rocha, and Judith R. (Richard) Smith; eight grandchildren, Charles P. Rocha (Heather), Audrey L. Smith, Larry Charles Dyess (Lena), Albert William Dyess (Chrissy), and Rodney Joseph Dyess (Candace); 23 great-grandchildren; her sister, Aurora Epton; and her brother, Patrick J. Cox.
