A man is being sought for his involvement in an armed robbery that occurred Monday just before 3 p.m. at Smoking Joe’s on Miss. 43, N.

The suspect is described as being 6 feet tall, about 200 pounds and at the time was wearing blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a long sleeve polo type shirt.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said at that time a man fitting that description entered the store also wearing white rags over his head, nose and mouth. Jessica Giglio, an employee of the store who was working that day, said the man came into the store with all of his features covered, prompting her to ask him what he was doing.

“The only thing showing was his eyes,” Giglio said.

At that time the man pulled a handgun and demanded money. Giglio said after he demanded money she began to give him what he asked for, but pleaded for him not to harm her, stating her daughter was in the store at the time. The man told Giglio that he had no intention of harming her, all he wanted was the money, she said.

Witnesses noticed a red extended cab pickup truck parked behind the store at the time of the robbery, Tucker said. After the robbery the suspect is believed to have gotten into the truck, which was occupied by two other unidentified males, before heading south on Beech Street. Tucker said no one was hurt during the robbery.
