Robert W. Smith, 78, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011 peacefully at home. Funeral services will be at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2011. The Rev. Thomas Stubbs will officiate at the service. The Rev. Borzzell Langham is Pastor.
Robert W. Smith was born August 5, 1932 to the late Rev. Walter Smith and Augusta Goodwin. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, retired Pearlington Shipyard Worker and a U.S. Army Veteran.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his only daughter, Seneca Lindsey (Jerome) of Tallahassee, Fla.; his beloved and only sister, Arby Jean McKenzie of Picayune; grandchildren: Cortina “Tina” McCall (Tyrone) of Pensacola, Fla., Kilil “Ken” Cook of Tallahassee; Melissa “Missy” Magee, Eric Magee and Shay Magee (Pricilla) all of Picayune; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two nieces, Darrelyn Thompson of Picayune and Sylvia Cavett (Joe) of Slidell, La.; one special nephew, Johnny Ray Pittman of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; a very special cousin, Sarah Richard of Picayune; and other cousins, relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Interment will be at Picayune Cemetery.
Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
