Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 9 a.m. in the Liberty Baptist Church for James Donnie Smith, 87, of Poplarville, who passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 in Poplarville.

Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. Randall Childs and the Rev. Dennis Davis will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, he was a Carpenter and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, James Monroe Smith and Eva Elaine Dillard Smith; his first wife, Juanita Naulty Smith; two daughters, Jeannette Lee and Annette Farnell; and one stepson, Phillip Saucier.

Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Saucier Smith of Poplarville; his children: Pat Lahrmann, James “Don” (Toni) Donnie Smith Jr., Brenda (Mike) Cannon, David (Debbie) Smith, Elaine (Frank) Dean, Aliene (Ted) Lewis, Judy (Garvice) Lee and Steve Maher; 26 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Monday, June 27, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church.
