Pearl River Central’s Lane Fazande and Trey Wynn made sure the Blue Devils remained atop the Region 6-5A standings Tuesday night.

Homestanding PRC used a three run third frame to take control against Stone County and take a 7-4 league win at the PRC Sports Complex.

The win pushes PRC to a perfect 3-0 in region play and 4-5 overall, while the Tomcats stand 1-2 in league play.

Wynn’s solo home run in the third broke a 2-2 tie, and began the three run outburst that also included RBI singles from Bull Mixon and Jordan Gaude.

The Blue Devils jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the first frame, as Wynn drove in a run with an RBI-single.

Stone countered with two runs off PRC starter Fazande in the third, to tie the game up temporarily.

Wynn had another RBI-single later in the game, and Christian Smith added a pair of singles as well to the winning cause.

Fazande picked up the win, his third in league play in the past week. Austin “Bubba” Stockstill came on with runners on second and third and two out after the Tomcats had cut the deficit to the final margin in the sixth, and retired the final four Tomcat batters of the game to earn the save. The teams meet again Friday in Wiggins.
