Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department investigators have pressed possession of child pornography charges against 55 year-old Leo Gerald Eaves.
Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said investigators with the department received a call on Tuesday from a concerned member of the community alleging that Eaves gave him a photo of what could only be described as child porn.
A search warrant was secured immediately for Eaves’ home at 10 Leo Eaves Rd., and during the search, the chief deputy said investigators found several pictures of a pornographic nature depicting children under the age of 10. Tucker said he could not elaborate on the details of the photos since the case is still under investigation.
As a result of the evidence collected during the search, Tucker said Eaves’ computer and the photographs were seized and will be turned over to the Attorney General’s office for forensic evaluation. Tucker said the computer is alleged to contain “quite a bit of child porn.”
Tucker said the continued investigation may lead to charges against other suspects in other areas. If information is found in the investigation that uncovers involvement by other parties, then Tucker said charges will certainly be pursued and the investigation expanded.
“We’re always pleased to get this kind of person off the street,” Tucker said.
