Some Ellisville residents want the city to reconsider allowing Cellular South to put up a cell tower at a local cemetery.
The tower is planned on the property just off Mississippi Highway 29 South. The city gave approval to the 200-foot tower about six weeks ago.
Cellular South is leasing the land from the city for $500 a month.
Residents with the Ellisville Cemetery Association say they don’t want the tower on any cemetery land.
Mayor Tim Waldrup said the proposed cell tower will go ahead unless a majority of the board of aldermen want to reconsider.
