Devin DeHarde is a resident of Picayune and a senior at Pope John Paul II in Slidell.
As a Co-Captain of the her high school dance team, the Jazzcats, she was invited to participate in the Macy’s Parade while attending dance camp this past summer.
Along with her parents and sister, Liz, she arrived in NYC the Saturday prior to the parade.
She joined a group of approximately 700 other girls from across the country under the direction of Varsity Spirit of America Performance Team. They practiced from that day through Thanksgiving morning for the routine to be performed in front of Macy’s at Herald Square.
The entire group walked the length of the parade and stopped to do the performance for the Today Show cameras at Herald Square.
The Deharde family returned home the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Devin plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi next fall.
