The trial of Michael Hudson Burks, charged with murder in a 2007 slaying in Bay St. Louis, has been rescheduled for Oct. 4.
The trial was rescheduled Monday to give Burks’ new lawyer time to prepare.
Burks is charged in the slaying of Gary Clifford Joiner, who was shot to death in July 2007. Authorities say the shooting allegedly occurred after Burks accused Joiner of taking things from Burks’ FEMA trailer.
Burks remains free on $40,000 bond.
