Picayune’s Maroon Tide waited almost a month after the season started to step onto their own court.

The wait didn’t pay off, however.

Visiting West Harrison beat Picayune 60-49 Tuesday night in the home opener for the Maroon Tide. It was the first ever meeting betwen the teams.

Vince Gable scored 13 for Picayune, while Derrione Stewart added 10. The Maroon tide is now 3-5 on the season.

In other local boy’s prep action, St. Martin beat Pearl River Central 71-48.
