A Holcomb man has waived his right to a preliminary hearing on two counts of murder in the deaths of two Grenada County residents.
John Wayne McChriston is charged with two counts of capital murder.
Prosecutors say McChriston waived the preliminary hearing during a justice court appearance this week. Prosecutors say the case will be presented to a grand jury in January.
McChriston is being held without bond.
Police say 69-year-old Rev. Jimmy Stauddy and 47-year-old Martha Stoker were stabbed to death at Stauddy’s Holcomb home Nov. 15. Authorities have said McChriston had argued with them over $8 he needed to buy drugs.
