Nonbinding election to gauge recreation support

Adams County residents will vote Nov. 3 in a nonbinding referendum on whether they will support a countywide recreation program.
The board of supervisors called for the election to gauge public opinion. The board will decide it plans will go ahead.
The Natchez Democrat reports that current plans call for renovations at Duncan Park to replace a baseball field with eight new tennis courts and a tennis pro shop.
On the vacant land near Natchez High School is planned five baseball fields, three softball fields and at least two soccer fields.
Supervisors estimate the cost at $5.4 million.
