Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 3 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Lynda F. Wood, 66, of Nicholson, who passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at her residence in Nicholson.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Sis. Bessie Henderson will officiate at the service and will be assisted by Bro. Mike Slocum and Bro. Doug Evans.

A native of Escatawpa, Miss., she was a budget project manager at Tulane University, and a member of Jesus Name Apostolic Church.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Tom Miller; her mother, Ercell Rush Sanderson; one daughter, Sherry Ann Wood; and one sister, Joyce Romero.

Survivors include: her husband, Jimmy Monroe Wood of Nicholson; one daughter, Monica Wood Davis of Perkinston, Miss.; one step-son, Jimmy Monroe Wood III of Carriere; one step-daughter, Belinda Hamann of Laurel, Miss.; five grandchildren: Nathaniel Davis, Matthew Davis, Shasta Woods, Savannah Woods, and Patrick “P.J.” Hamann; one brother, Wayne Parker of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Bobbi Parks of Gulfport, and Mabel Cook of Saucier, Miss.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.
