Danny Manley, Pearl River County Emergency Operations Director, wishes to inform the citizens of Pearl River County that the burn ban has been lifted as of March 17.

The National Weather service has indicated that the county should expect no rain for the next seven days with dry and windy conditions. Therefore, if residents who must burn should use extreme caution.

The chief of county Emergency Opertions said citizens should remember that no garbage, or rubbish containing garbage, nor hazardous wastes and materials shall be burned in Pearl River County pursuant to Mississippi state law.

A fire should never be left unattended, Manley says.
