3-way stop coming

Due to public complaints a three-way stop will be set up at the intersection of Telly Road and Alpine Road on Monday.
Public Works Director Chad Frierson said the change will attempt to slow traffic in the area for the safety of the young children that live in the area.
The one day operation will involve installing stop signs at all lanes of travel.
Temporary lights will be installed to make the change visible to motorists, Frierson said.
“We’re trying to be as safe as we can possibly be,” Frierson said.
A press release from the Public Works department states that a number of requests from citizens in that residential area requested the change to ensure the safety of the children in that area, due to the high amount of traffic.
Other work going on in the city involves some drainage work on Memorial Boulevard that has reduced some traffic on the busy street to one lane at the intersection of Memorial and Bales Ave.
Frierson said that work is part of the Phase II of the Memorial Boulevard overlay and he expects the drainage work to be completed soon.
However additional work will involve more lane closures as the work progresses.
