Meridian Police says an inmate walked off from a work crew.

Twenty-four-year-old David Conner of Meridian was serving time for contempt of court, a misdemeanor, when he reportedly went missing Thursday. Police says he was one of several men working on a crew when he apparently just walked off during a time when the crew supervisor was distracted.

Police say Conner was wearing an orange inmate jumpsuit at the time of his escape.
