Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Picayune for Paul D. Safley, 84, of Hide-A-Way Lake and Gretna, La., who passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007 in Hide-A-Way Lake.

Burial will be in the New Palestine under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home of Picayune.

The Rev. David Lowery will officiate at the service.

A native of Green County, Iowa, he was an interior designer and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Picayune. He owned and operated The Drapery House and Interiors in Gretna, La., for many years.

Survivors include: his wife, Jeanne Safley of Hide-A-Way Lake and Gretna, La.; one daughter, Janice Marie Lynch of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Paul Jerome Safley and Timothy Byron Safley, both of Louisville, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Michael Lynch, Susan Lynch, Jenny Zelik, Katie Lynch, Dan Safley, Kevin Safley, John Safley, Katherine Safley and Elizabeth Safley; and one brother, Robert Safley of Jefferson, La.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.
