Amazing Savior Lutheran Church of Picayune is the newest host site for Angel Food Ministries. Angel Food Ministries, based in Monroe, Ga., is a Christian food ministry operating in 32 states. Amazing Savior Lutheran Church and Angel Food Ministries offers no hand out, but a hand up. The groceries are not free, but they are available at such a low price that practically anyone can afford them. A basic box of groceries costs $28. This same amount can cost as much as $70 in the grocery store. After purchasing the basic box, there are specials for just $20 more.
Each month there is a new menu. You must come to the host site each month to order, then two weeks later come pick up your groceries. There is no membership, no qualifications and no limits on quantities purchased for a family. These products are not outdated or commodity-type foods. They are name brand quality products.
Amazing Savior Lutheran Church is the only host site for Angel Food in Pearl River County. Orders are taken at Suite 6 in Siebenkittel Circle Hwy. 11 North just across the street from Ace Hardware in north Picayune. You can order your groceries on Saturday, August 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesday, August 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
