PICAYUNE — Fr. Khoa Vo, the parochial vicar at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, puts ashes on the forehead of a parishioner at the church's noon mass on Ash Wednesday, which marks the first day Lent, or the season of fasting, reflection and penance that continues until Easter.
