PICAYUNE — Pearl River County had a successful hazardous waste collection day over the weekend. Saturday, Fire Marshal Albert Lee, with the support of MDEQ, accepted hazardous wastes from county residents to have them disposed of properly. Lee estimates that about 20 gallons of gasoline, 10 gallons of antifreeze, about 400 gallons of paints, stains and thinners, four gallons of kerosene, three cylinders of propane, about 300 gallons of oils and various numbers of cleaning supplies, furniture polish, pool chemicals, insect killer cans and fertilizers were colleced.
