PICAYUNE — Pearl River County residents affected by the floods from Hurricane Isaac have begun applying for assistance at Disaster Recovery Centers. Picayune’s center is at the National Guard Armory, 1251 B. U.S. Hwy. 11 South. Poplarville’s center is at the Baker Maid Building, 403 S. Main St. So far, 7,875 people have applied for aid in Pearl River, Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties and about $1.9 million worth of aid has been approved by FEMA.
