Laurel Leader Call
When our phone rings, we stop and answer it. When God calls, we are to quickly answer and be eager to serve Him, but that is not always how the story goes. We have become so addicted to comfort. In fact, we can get so caught up in our comfort that we fail to even notice that He is calling.
God calls His people to follow Him. If we belong to Him, we have to choose His calling over the comforts we love so much. When Jesus called His disciples, they left family, home and possessions; they were willing to leave it all. Think of what they would have missed if they had ignored His calling! Most of us will probably not be called to leave it all, but we might be called to leave our comfort. God loves us so much that He would not call us to do something if it were not for our good and His glory. That fact can make us look at our Christ, not at our comfort.
People have an answering machine so that if they missed a call, a message can be left. God does not do answering machines, but He does have a message for us. He wants us to come to a place in our lives where His calling comes before our comfort.
Tragedies can happen in this life, but to miss His call is one that we will regret forever.
