MOSELLE — A Jones County spokesman says a Moselle man was in critical condition and had no house after apparently using diesel fuel to light his wood stove for heating.
County spokesman Lance Chancellor said 49-year-old Danny Jarrell had burns over 80 percent of his body when a cousin pulled him out of the house Thursday morning. He says Jarrell was flown from a hospital in Hattiesburg to a burn unit in Georgia.
Updated condition reports were not available Saturday.
Chancellor said firefighters rated the house a total loss.
