JACKSON — The Department of Energy says Mississippi has used federal stimulus funds to weatherize 2,584 homes as of April 30. DOE officials say Mississippi has now weatherized more than 30 percent of their total targeted low-income homes. According to agency figures, 150 workers were employed by state and local weatherization providers during the first three months of the year. Mississippi was allocated $49.4 million for the program. Mississippi plans to weatherize a total of more than 5,400 homes with its Recovery Act funding.
