Inmate’s death likely a homicide

LEXINGTON — Holmes County Sheriff Willie March says that his department is treating the death of an inmate, 24-year-old Kelvin R. Hollimon of Rawls Springs, as a homicide.

March said an investigation is ongoing, and charges may be filed soon.

Hollimon was transferred to a Jackson hospital after he was discovered hurt in a holding cell Tuesday night by prison guards. He died Wednesday.
