SOUTHHAVEN — The city of Southaven has fired its information technology director after his arrest on charges of felony possession of controlled substances, including Oxycontin and Darvocet, with intent to sell.
Jason Grant was arrested Monday and freed on $10,000 bond. Grant had worked for the city for eight years. He helped develop the city’s Magnolia Wave Internet service and recently redesigned and updated the city’s Web site.
Authorities say two other men — Ashley Otts and Jason P. Joyner — also were arrested in the case and each was charged with possession of a controlled substance. They are also free on bond.
No court dates have been announced.
Southaven Police Chief Tom Long said the arrests came after four-to-five week investigation.
