BILOXI — Southern Mississippi will host in-state rival Ole Miss Tuesday here at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
It will mark the third straight game that USM has played on the Gulf Coast, after winning two games in the Gulf Coast Classic at Bert Jenkins Gym at Gulfport High School last week.
USM is 8-4 overall and has won four straight games, after Jeremy Wise scored 17 of his game-high 19 points in the opening half in a 68-49 victory over Weber State Tuesday night.
"Jeremy is getting really good at assists to turnovers with 14 assists to just 5 turnovers in the two games in the tournament," said Southern Miss coach Larry Eustachy. "He really understands the game and he is taking what the defense is giving him."
Ole Miss is also 8-4 after Ole Miss placed four players in double figures, led by freshman Terrico White and sophomore Malcolm White with 18 points apiece, Monday as the Rebels defeated Florida A&M; 86-63.
