The Pearl River Central Blue Devils (2-7, 2-4) fell in their final game of the 2008 season to the St. Stanislaus Rock-a-chaws (7-2, 3-2) in Bay St. Louis 42-0 on Friday night.
PRC head coach Jeremy Weir commented, "It has been a long season but the kids have really played hard. Everyone knows the situation from the Bay High game a few weeks ago. I am very proud of how the players responded and played hard throughout the rest of the season. We graduate a big number of seniors and this is the first group that has been with me the whole way. I will miss those guys. We will have some seasoned young guys stepping in as they have seen the field quite a bit these last few weeks."
The Rocks scored quickly to start the game. It took Dylan Favre and company just two plays to find the endzone when he hooked up with Boomer Scarborough for a 43-yard scoring pass with 11:29 left in the opening quarter. Cameron Bosley's PAT made the score 7-0.
PRC mounted a 10-play drive on their first possession highlighted by two first down runs by Cody Dillard. However, a sack by Bosley halted the drive and forced PRC to punt.
The Rocks scored on their next possession when Favre found Krisjon Wilkerson for a 46-yard strike with 3:57 left in the quarter. Bosley made the score 14-0 with the PAT.
A three and out by the Blue Devils gave the Rocks a short field at the Blue Devil 44 yardline. Three plays later, Favre found James Abraham for an 18-yard score with 1:07 left in the opening quarter. Bosley's PAT made the score 21-0.
The two teams traded possessions twice before SSC got the ball back at midfield. A 45-yard pass from Favre to Scarborough brought the ball down to the five yardline. Two plays later, Favre connected with Scarborough again for a three-yard score with 6:34 left in the first half. The PAT by Bosley made the score 28-0.
The Blue Devils followed with a 12-play drive. After minimal gains by Dillard on the ground, Tyler Lee went to the air for a 22-yard completion to Dillard. However, the Rock defense stood strong forcing a punt.
Favre connected twice on the ensuing drive through the air but on his third pass Brady Jordan stepped in front of the receiver and picked off the pass at the Blue Devil 20 yardline. However, the Rocks got the ball right back when Lee was intercepted by Jeremy Forte as time expired.

PRC opened the second half on offense but after a first down pickup of nine yards by Dillard, the Blue Devils were forced to punt. the Rocks scored on their opening possession of the second half when Kollin Cannon broke free for a 26-yard score with 5:10 remaining in the third quarter. Bosley made the score 35-0 with the PAT.
On their next possession, the Blue Devils got a 15-yard run and first down from Ben Lee but it wasn't enough as the Blue Devils had to punt.
On the ensuing Rock drive, Lee stepped in front of a Favre pass and picked off the pigskin to end the drive.
Lee hit Dillard for a 31-yard gain on the first play of the PRC drive but there was not much action following that completion. PRC turned the ball over on downs at the Rock 43 yardline.
After a 31-yard pickup by the Favre-to-Scarborough connection, the Rocks lost a fumble to the Blue Devils at the PRC 20 yardline.
A personal foul by SSC and an eight-yard completion from Tyler Lee to Ben Lee resulted in two first downs for the Blue Devils but that did not keep the drive alive. The Rocks took over on downs on their own 44 yardline. The Rocks' final score came when Favre hooked up with Wilkerson for a 22-yard score late in the fourth quarter. Bosley made the score 42-0 with the PAT.
Lee found Josh Taggart on the next drive for a 29-yard gain followed by a 25-yard pickup by a Lee-to-Dillard connection. But, it was too little too late.
Dillard rushed 12 times for 55 yards while adding two receptions for 47 yards. Favre finished the night with 436 yards passing and five touchdowns on 22-of-30 passing with two interceptions. Cannon was the Rocks' leading rushed with 104 yards on five carries. Scarborough tallied 179 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches. Wilkerson added 158 yards and two scores on six catches.
