Homestanding Pearl River Central swept a pair of varsity games on the hardwood from county rival Poplarville Tuesday night.
The Lady Devils, after beating the Lady Hornets for the first time in eight seasons earlier in the year, pulled off the same feat within six weeks taking a 36-15 win.
Caroline Lumpkin tallied 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace PRC, while Jessica Powers added 12 points, five blocks and five rebounds.
Shaneisha Hudderson and Sheena Travis each scored five points for the Lady Hornets.
In the boys game, PRC took a 64-53 win led by Ashton Woodson's game high 30 points. Seth McCoy added nine points and Walker Roberts chipped in eight points to the winning effort.
For Poplarville, Anthony Martin scored 20 points while Alex Travis added 14 points and Rojae Raine chipped in 13 points for the Hornets.
It was the final action for all four teams before they begin play in their respective district tournaments next week.
Also on Tuesday night, Picayune's boys beat Stone County 52-47. Shemar Williams and Donovan Rice each scored 13 points apiece for the Maroon Tide.
The Lady Tide dropped a 59-45 to the Lady Tomcats.
Picayune hosts the Division 8-5A Tournament next week.

Season ends for Maroon Tide
The season came to an end for the Picayune baseball team Saturday afternoon with a 5-3 loss to homestanding Pascagoula here at Ingalls Field in the third and deciding game of the Class 5A South State championship series.

And it all comes down to this.
Picayune and Pascagoula will face off in a one game, winner take all
showdown today at 2 p.m., at Ingalls Field for the Class A South State
prep baseball championship and the right to play for the state title. -

The visiting Lady Hornets fell to Newton County 10-2 in game two of the best-of-three series. -

Two more wins, and Poplarville will be playing for the Class 4A state championship in fast-pitch softball.
The Lady Hornets have a chance at getting that first victory today. -
Polderman’s, Mitchell win titles
The Picayune Maroon Tide and the Pearl River Central Blue Devils both competed in the Class 5A South State track and field championships this past Saturday at Long Beach High School.

Poplarville is moving on to the Class 4A South State finals.
The Lady Hornets swept the best-of-three semifinal series with North Pike, completing the affair with a 2-0 road win Monday night. -
