PICAYUNE —
A group of local prep football standouts signed scholarships with Mississippi junior colleges on National Signing Day Wednesday.
At Picayune, a trio of offensive linemen signed with East Mississippi. Joey Reynolds, Jacob Feeley and Cooper Esslinger all inked with the Lions.
A pair of Maroon Tide players, tight end Tanner Bryan and defensive lineman Semaj Branch, signed with new head coach William Jones at Pearl River CC.
Also, fullback Desmond Taylor signed with Mississippi Gulf Coast, defensive back Doug Cross signed with Jones JC and quarterback Ben Hickman signed with Holmes CC.
At Pearl River Central, a trio of players signed scholarships as well.
Linebackers Adam Perronne and Brandon Padgett signed with PRCC, and defensive end Desmond Michel signed with Co-Lin CC.

Hickman, a standout at both the plate and on the mound for the Lady Hornets, was named the 2012-13 Gatorade Mississippi Softball Player of the Year, The Gatorade Company announced on Thursday in collaboration with USA TODAY High School Sports. -
