Forrest County AHS head coach Michael Thornton recently enjoyed his 300th win as head coach of the Lady Aggies.
Fifth ranked Poplarville was doing all of the celebrating Tuesday in Brooklyn however.
The Lady Hornets smacked out a 14-2 win in division play over homestanding FCAHS.
The win moves Poplarville to 12-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in league play.
Kayla Ross led the hit parade for the Lady Hornets, as she had three hits including a double. Allysa Graeter also had three hits, including a triple and a double.
Janessa Dedeaux added a pair of hits and also drove in three runs in the winning cause, while Paige Miller added a pair of doubles and a triple to the victorious effort.
Graeter also picked up the win on the hill, moving to 12-0 for head coach Jonathan Ray’s team.
Poplarville is off until Tuesday when the Lady Hornets travel to Columbia for a division game.
• Picayune was supposed to get started with division play on Tuesday, but the Lady Tide’s game on the road at Long Beach was rained out.
Picayune is 8-3 on the season and will put an eight game winning streak on the line today when the Lady Tide travels to Long Beach today for a make-up game with the Lady Cats at 5:30.
There will just be one varsity game played.
Picayune then is slated to host D’Iberville in another division game on Thursday night.

And even though Picayune stands just 7-5 overall after Tuesday night’s 10-1 loss to Greene County, veteran Lady Tide head coach feels like her team is on the right track to defend their league title. -

And Pearl River Central Blue Devils and their fans got a chance to see how good it feels when the Blue Devils defeated the Poplarville Hornets 28-7 in Hendrix stadium on Friday night, breaking a 13-game losing streak. -
