Bishop Mitchell to speak at Kingdom Conference

PICAYUNE — Power House of Deliverance Ministries, Inc., 800 South Beech St. in Picayune, will sponsor a Kingdom Conference, Sunday through Wednesday, January 15-17, 2012.

Guest speaker will be Bishop Roderick Mitchell, founder and pastor of New Life Church, Inc., of Cleveland, Miss.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Influence!…Infect!…Impact!. Based on scripture taken from St. Matthew 13:33, “He told them still another parable: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”

Service times are Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Host Pastor Kenneth Baker, and the congregation of Power House of Deliverance Ministries, would like to invite all to come hear this dynamic speaker.

For more information contact the church at 601-749-0070.

  • A journey from fear to faith

By Gwen “Ms. Chocolate” Williams/Special to the Item
I am convinced that satan’s most powerful weapon is fear. In this land of the free and the home of the brave most are held in bondage by fear. Because of what Jesus did on the cross we are set free to live abundantly, but fear teaches us to trust our common sense rather than trust God. I wonder what my life would have been had I been taught the love of God rather than the fear of God. I lived most of my childhood in fear of what God would do if I did something wrong. Praise God, I’ve learned to walk by faith living victoriously.
