PICAYUNE —
Randall and Carolyn Clay will be ministering at Christian Life Assembly of God for the “Making Families Work” seminar weekend on Friday, Jan. 27; Saturday, Jan. 28; and Sunday, Jan. 29. The purpose of this seminar is to help strengthen families, however, married, singles and teens all find something interesting, helpful and refreshing from the information Randall and Carolyn present.
Seminar times are Friday night 7-9 p.m., Saturday morning, 9-11 a.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The Clays have been in the Family Ministry for over 37 years. Randall started singing gospel music 54 years ago. As a young man in West Virginia, he formed his first group. Fifty-one years later his love for gospel music has not lessened. Along with singing, Randall is an accomplished teacher on “the family.” He sees an ever growing need today for family ministry. Taking into account the continuing divorce rate in the church and the problems with children, his heart is greatly troubled and his conviction even stronger to minister to families. When teaching, he challenges men to be strong, loving leaders in their homes. He stresses the importance of being a spiritual blessing and a positive role model.
Carolyn encourages women to accept their role as Godly women, wives and mothers. She addresses the challenges women face today while trying to balance the busy schedules of home, family and career. There is a special emphasis placed upon learning to find happiness in a personal relationship with God and counting on Him for happiness.
From the beginning, when Randall and Carolyn met and married they wanted a Christian family. They were blessed with twin sons and later a daughter. God blessed their efforts and all three children gave their hearts to the Lord at the age of six. There are no stories of divorce, rebellion, losing out with God or any of the tragedies that are sometimes classified as a testimony. The Clay’s testimony is that God has kept His hand upon them and kept their family. They are still proclaiming the importance of a Christian home after 48 years.
Preliminary sign-up is requested due to limited seating. Call the church office at (601) 798-2766 to reserve your spot.

A journey from fear to faith
By Gwen “Ms. Chocolate” Williams/Special to the Item
I am convinced that satan’s most powerful weapon is fear. In this land of the free and the home of the brave most are held in bondage by fear. Because of what Jesus did on the cross we are set free to live abundantly, but fear teaches us to trust our common sense rather than trust God. I wonder what my life would have been had I been taught the love of God rather than the fear of God. I lived most of my childhood in fear of what God would do if I did something wrong. Praise God, I’ve learned to walk by faith living victoriously. -
