PICAYUNE — Free concert  at Central BC

Carpenter’s Wood, a select vocal ensemble group from William Carey University, will be performing a free concert at Central Baptist Church in McNeill on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. Love offering will be taken up to assist in the group’s upcoming mission trip.

Black History programs set

Several area churches have planned Black History Programs. They include:

— Pilgrim Bound Baptist, Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. Guest Speaker will be councilwomen Lynn Bogan Bumpers. For more information call 601-798-5457.

— East Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Youth Dept., Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. Theme is “Trusting God: No Matter What.” Guest speaker for this celebration will be the Rev. Ronald Dunston, Associate Minister of Triumph Baptist Church, Poplarville, Miss.  For more information, call (601) 798-5056.

— Weems Chapel United Methodist, Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at 7 p.m. Guest choirs will be Women of Faith, Community Choir and Divine Creation of Little Providence Baptist Church.

— Anointed Dove Ministries, 18 Stafford Rd. in Picayune, Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at 4 p.m. African-Americans who have richly contributed to Black heritage will be honored through portrayals, skits, poems, and music. For more information contact Brenda Taylor at 504-577-7530.

Community Fellowship

Pinetucky Baptist Church in Henleyfield will host a Spring Fellowship for the community, March 2, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with fun jumpers, food and activities. The public is invited. Please come join in. Pinetucky Baptist Church is located next to the ballpark in Henleyfield on Hwy 43.

Youth Service  at Flat Top

Flat Top Unity Baptist  will host a Saturday night service with Youth emphasis., March 2, 2013 at 6 p.m. The public is cordially invited. Supper will be served after the service.

‘Faithful Friends Tour’

Gumpond Baptist Church in Lumberton, Miss., will host “The Faithful Friends Tour” Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at 6 p.m. Featured guests will be The Riders from Lumberton, and Chronicle from Holden, La. The concert is free, however, a love offering will be taken. For more information contact Mark Longino at 601-606-1261 or Jason Oxenrider at 601-466-7575. A Dessert Fellowship will follow the concert.

Terry Terrell  ministers in La.

Gospel singer Terry Terrell will minister in music and the word at Jesus Name Apostolic Church, Hwy 11 in Pearl River, La., March 2, 2013 at 7 pm. and March 3 at 6 p.m. For more information call Ann at 601-799-1348.
