PICAYUNE — Funeral Services for C. R. Guyton, 88, of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Dr. Keith Warden will officiate the service.

A native of Tippah County, Miss., he lived most of his life in New Albany, Miss., where he was owner and manager of Carnell Candy Company. C.R. was a member of First Baptist Church of New Albany, where he served as a deacon. He was a city alderman, school board member, Mason and Shriner. He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune since 2004, and was a member of Jack Nail's Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Simpson McAllister Guyton, and Mary Frances Ratliff Guyton; his brother, Perrin Guyton; and two sisters, Hazel Baggett, and Helen Harwood.

Survivors include: his wife of 64 years, Billie Jewel Carnell Guyton; his children, William Rowe Guyton and wife Cindy, Janice Guyton Sharp and husband Covington, and Linda Guyton Jopes and husband Sam; his four granddaughters, Jennifer Jopes Cacioppo, Savannah Guyton Kraemer, Emily Jopes, and Ellen Sharp Girardeau; his six great-grandchildren, Leah, Carsyn, Anna, and Ally Cacioppo, Holden, and Sadie Kraemer; and his brother, James William Guyton and wife Dene of Chicot, Calif.
