CARRIERE —
Funeral services for A. J. "Buddy" Bennett, 85, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012, will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Carriere.
Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will be in Carriere Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Brother William Gary Smith will officiate at the service assisted by Brother Billy Galloway.
A native of Picayune, Miss., he was a Foreman with the Norfolk Southern Railway and a member of Central Baptist Church of McNeill and of Carriere Masonic Lodge and a former member of First Baptist Church of Carriere where he served as a Deacon and he was also a Shriner. Buddy was a WWII Veteran.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Selva Daniel Bennett; his mother, Mary V. Ladner Bennett; and brother, X. L. Bennett.
Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Mattie Lee Barber Bennett; his four sons, Danny Bennett, Joe Bennett, Robert Bennett, and Mark Bennett; his six grandchildren, Jennifer Bennett McNease, William Bennett, Arica Jo Bennett, Rusty Bennett, Aaron Bennett, and Jacquelynn Bennett; three great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, I.V. Burge and R.Z. Necaise.
