Funeral services for Lillie Mae Parker-Abram, 83, will be Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Slidell, La. at eleven o’clock a.m. The Reverend Norman J. Farve is officiating.

Obituary of Our Matriarch, Mrs. Lillie Mae Parker-Abram was born February 9, 1929 in Slidell, to the late Eldridge Parker and Celestine Ducre-Parker. To that union six beautiful children were born; four girls and two boys. Their names were Genevieve, Gustavia, Juanita, Lillie Mae, Leonard, and Clarence Parker.

On Friday, November 16, 2012 Lillie Mae Abram passed away. She was a happy, fun, energetic, patient, and loving woman of God. She was baptized at Salvation Baptist Church at the age of thirteen. She was a dedicated employee at Days Inn Hotel of Slidell where she managed 15 years. She completed her service and later moved to Jacksonville, Fla., where she made memories with her children and husband, whom she loved dearly.

After many years away, Lillie Mae returned to her roots and moved back to Louisiana where she lived with family. She moved her church membership to Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Our lovely woman of God will forever be loved and missed by so many.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Earlmon Abram, Jr. They shared sixty-one years of a loving and happy companionship together. From this union, they were blessed with five children; Mrs. Lillie P. Abram-Sylvester, Mr. Leonard C. Abram, Sr. Mr. Herman Abram, Sr., Mr. Larry Abram, Sr., Mrs. Glenda Abram-McDougle, and a niece, Mrs. Patricia Parker-Wilson, whom they raised together.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Earlmon Abram, Jr.; her two sisters, Genevieve and Gustavia; her two brothers, Leonard and Clarence; one brother-in-law, Jasper Bright, Sr.; one great nephew; and three great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her loving and devoted children, Lillie (Mark) Sylvester, Leonard (Diane) Abram, Sr., of Jacksonville, Larry (Marie) Abram, of Slidell, and Herman (Belated Deborah Brown) Abram, Glenda (Ronald) McDougle, of Picayune, Miss., and Patricia (Willie) Wilson, of Slidell,; one sister, Juanita Parker-Bright; and a loving friend, Ruby Badon.

Lillie Mae was also blessed with thirty-one grandchildren; seventy-seven great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Salvation Cemetery, Slidell (St. Joe Community).
