Funeral Services for Zachery T. “Z.T.” Jones , 75, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away at home Monday, January 7, 2013, will be held Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, and also on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. service time at Union Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Pearson Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Buddy Sheriff will officiate the service, assisted by the Rev. G.A. McCoy and the Rev. Brian Tatum.
A native of Hancock County, Miss., he was a welder with Boh Brothers Construction Company in New Orleans, La., for 42 years. Z.T. was a member and deacon of Union Baptist Church. He was a Godly man who loved his church, family, and Gideons. He was a long standing member of the Gideons International. Z.T. was a director of the Men’s Ministry at Union Baptist Church for many years. He always had a helping hand for everyone. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Boaz Jones Sr. and Nellie Smith Jones; his son, Charles Anthony Jones; and his brothers and sister, Boaz Jones Jr., Della Mae Evans, David Wallace Jones, and Ray Muriel Jones.
Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Vera F. Quick Jones; his children, Sharon Terry and husband David, and Jeff Jones and wife Kim; 11 grandchildren, Timothy, Melissa, Trista, Johnathan, Christy, Channa, Aaron, Caleb, Becky, Andrew, and Corina; 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Audrey Layus.
