PICAYUNE —
Funeral Mass for George Henry Heikamp, 83, of Mandeville, La., formerly of Picayune, Miss., who passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012, will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Father John Noone will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 12-1 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and also on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 12-1 p.m. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001.
Burial will follow visitation, Friday, January 4, 2013 in Garden of Memories Mausoleum.
Committal Services will be officiated by Father Michael Schneller.
Local arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
A native of Metairie, La., he was a retired employee of ICG Railroad. George was a active member and a former head usher of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. George was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus, and he was also a former Grand Knight. He enjoyed golfing, his party boat, and his family. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be truly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry William Heikamp and Alma Cook Heikamp.
Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Gloria Frederick Heikamp; his daughters, Sharon Robinson and husband Malcolm, and Stacey LeCron; six grandchildren: Mitch, Sebastian, and Whitney Smith; Ross, Lauren, and Ryan LeCron; seven great-grandchildren: Ryan, Madison, Sydney, Mitchell, Lane, Nora, and Lily; and his sisters, Faye Davis, Elma Carter, and Alma Crawford.
